As you may have noticed, it has been a while since I have made any posts. Well, I have started a new job and I’m working crazy hours. It has been quite the ride. I’ve learned so much and still have so much to go. I’ve been running on little to no sleep and have had no time for any extras.
I know many people can relate. So how do we overcome this exhaustion? How do we balance personal and work life? How do we prevent that burnout we get when we have taken on too much?
I find myself in this situation often, where somebody tries to get me to “stoop” to their level. Well I REFUSE!!!!
Even though being the bigger person is tough, and the other person doesn’t always see it. It provides such a huge benefit to you. It shows you, that you have the patience, and self-control that many others don’t have. It means that when you are faced with any situation you are not taken out of your element.
Sometimes you need to be at your lowest point to be brought back up to your higher success.
I have found myself being tested by this. It has recently seemed like little, crazy, bad things have been happening to me. Not life-changing events, but the mood changing kind that leaves you in a temporary “funk”.
I go through these moods often which sounds very discouraging, but there is always a light at the end of these tunnels. Something great ends up happening, and it seems like all those crazy, bad things that happened prior aren’t relevant anymore.
These highs and lows are necessary. In order to see and appreciate the good things, you sometimes have to face and feel the bad.
Chin up, and anticipate those great things coming your way!!!
While looking up the dictionary definition of perspective, I came to notice that there are 4 definitions of this word, depending on how it is being used.
Definition of perspective
1a : a mental view or prospect to gain a broader perspective on the international scene b : a visible scene; especially: one giving a distinctive impression of distance
2a : the interrelation in which a subject or its parts are mentally viewed places the issues in proper perspective; also point of view b : the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance trying to maintain my perspective
3: the appearance to the eye of objects in respect to their relative distance and positions
4a : the technique or process of representing on a plane or curved surface the spatial relation of objects as they might appear to the eye; specifically: representation in a drawing or painting of parallel lines as converging in order to give the illusion of depth and distance
b : a picture in perspective
Given my current understanding of what perspective means to me, I found this rather ironic that something that means having multiple or different views would have multiple definitions.
Do we look at people or situations with more than one perspective, or do we follow only one way of thinking?
Would changing our perspective on a certain subject make things more clear on why things are, the way they are?
Try to find something that you might have only looked at from one perspective, and put yourself in another set of shoes to see if it’s the same from that different perspective.
